BIOGRAPHY
Hugo Paixao was born in Lisbon in 1981 and moved to London at the age of 5. He was always into Electronic music from a young age, Coming from a musically inclined family in the performance sector installed the importance of music as a creative outlet and a higher state of communication. At the age of sixteen he did two weeks work experience with Cisco Ferreira (The Advent) and realised what he wanted to achieve. Which led him to study sound engineering and music technology at City of Westminster College, Paddington, making him proficient in music programs.
After leaving college Hugo has been working on all different types of genres from Hip Hop, House, Electronica and then finally finding his way to techno. His Techno is described as Dark, Hypnotic with a strong kick and bass It will blow your socks off! . He has had a variety of amazing artists remix his tracks like The Advent, Cari Lekebusch, Sasha Carassi, Industrialyzer, A.Paul, Tom Hades, Axel Karakasis And other artists who also support and play his stuff. In 2010 Hugo Paixao formed a joint label with The Advent (Cisco Ferreira) and Jason Fernandes called Skyline Type Grooves, which has had great progress over the last couple of years with some amazing artists, tracks and Collaborations. Hugo has also been featured on labels such as Kombination Research, H-Productions, Phobiq, Naked Lunch, Impact Mechanics, Slap Jaxx which your can find on Beatport.
One of Hugo’s main influences is Cisco Ferreira, The Advent. Watching Cisco at work has been a big inspiration and added to my desire to make music. Other influences: Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, Chris Liebing, Joey Beltham, CJ Bollard, Speedy J, Lucy
Hugo Paixao has also been busy djing in clubs all around Europe from the likes of Fabrik in Madrid Spain, Toy Club In Stuttgart Germany, Corsica Studios in London England… The list goes on and on.
